Learn About The Show:

Sara Hickman's Super Pal Universe is a new digital content creative program targeting a global pre-teen audience.  The ongoing program will involve a group of pre-teens starting a band called "Super Pal Universe."  Mixing humor, education, community service and music into the structure of the show, musician Sara Hickman will serve as mentor and manager to a group of energetic, intelligent and musical kids wanting to make a difference in this world. The participants in the program will be real, non-professional kids dealing with real, everyday challenges.  During the course of the series, the kids will face a series of social and coming-of-age issues that pre-teens everywhere can relate to, and will deal with them in an entertaining, cutting edge, and creative way, spurred on by the always infectiousness personality of Sara Hickman.

The content of the show will rely heavily on a Kids Advisory Board who will help us identify key themes and programming content that will be most relevant and interesting for them!

The program will be produced in Austin and distributed by televised broadcast and access from our website.  In addition to original music and video content created by Sara and the program producers, there will be a heavy focus on soliciting original content created by our kids' audience – music, video, animation and artwork – which will be featured in the program and on our website.  Kids will not only receive valuable lessons and messages at their own level, but they will be encouraged to act on what they experience in the show.  The program will have a very reality-based look and feel, with minimal canned studio sets or scripting.

The cast for the program will be drawn from the Austin community and will feature non-professional kids, including the core set of band member characters and a number of extras and walk-ons for different programs and videos. Our goal is to produce a program involving real kids who are dealing with real, everyday challenges facing pre-teens today. These will be kids that everyone in the audience can relate to – they will make mistakes when practicing the music or delivering lines, they will be socially awkward at times, but they will be passionate and real about what the program is trying to accomplish.

Production will be managed by Super!Alright, a cutting-edge media and production company based in Austin with extensive experience producing digital media and broadcast programming.
